Ngiyabonga Gobela Kakhulu!
Giving a very big thank you to my teacher.
I must take time to honor my goddess mother, teacher, and mentor YeyeGogoNana Goddess Love Light. I met and dreamt of her back in 2013, after my entire world had crumbled I had just begun to pick up the pieces and caught of glimpse of light that happened to manifest by a deep yearning to connect with my ancestors. At the time I couldn’t quite pinpoint the feeling but it was leading me to learn and read about traditional methods of healing and I spent time watching countless of youtube documentaries of healers from all over the world. Through researching African Spirituality I found YeyeGogoNana and decided that it would be good to get a reading from her. I was rarely the kind of person that spent money on going to psychics or fortune tellers, but for some reason I trusted that she could help me and I knew that this was different. We actually did the divination over Skype and by the end of the reading I was a fountain of tears. And I cried hard. It was a cry of release, my spirit had for the first time found it’s place.
She confirmed things about my past that no one could have known by just asking my name and she answered all my questions before I had a chance to ask them out loud. So I knew it was real!
And then she began to tell me what my spirit guides wanted for me in this life and I was thrilled because deep inside I had already begun to know these things. It was wonderful to have the confirmation and since that day she has worked with me very closely and accepted me as her daughter. Her own story in it self is very powerful and her strength, love, support and resilience show up in all that she does. She is world renown African Shaman in three different traditions, the Akan of Ghana West Africa, Yoruba of Nigeria, and Sangoma of South Africa. She has given so much of her time, energy, wisdom, protection and love to me and to all of her students. I am humbled and so very honored to have her as my elder and to be initiating in this shrine family, I couldn’t ask for anyone more perfect! Thank you Baba! Thokoza! Ase! Medassi!
